Project Aahaar

NGO. Founder and volunteer

Website: www.projectaahar.com

Aahaar means diet in Hindi. Through this initiative I helped children in disadvantaged communities learn about the essentials of nutrition and how they can stay healthy. Furthermore, I collaborated with the families of malnourished children to create personalized meal plans in line with their income and context. Created engaging mnemonic devices and flyers to ensure that knowledge can be easily recalled.

Presented my work at the United Nations Headquarters to distinguished leaders. Featured on UN WebTV and national media.

In December 2021, I established a partnership with Ekal Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad (BLSP) which is an Indian Charity under the Ekal Vidyalaya organization. It manages 23,000 schools across India, teaching 300,000 disadvantaged children. My curriculum is being implemented in all of BLSP's schools and this process will be completed by the end of 2022.

To achieve my objective of helping disadvantaged malnourished children, I used crowdfunding and sponsorships to raise funds. These funds were used to buy foods which are ready to consume and nutrient rich. Common donations included fruits like bananas, apples, oranges, and mangoes depending on different seasons. Moreover, I purchased these foods in proportions which gives children an all-round healthy diet with no nutrient deficiency. The types of foods purchased is dependent on seasons. I repeatedly worked with the same communities and children to ensure that nutrient influx is enhanced for a prolonged period of time.

Led team of 40 volunteers. INR 2 million raised, 3000 children impacted, 3 countries reached. Sponsored by Quest for Success who pledged to donate INR 600k every year. Received commendation from Indian Govt.
